What makes your hotel different special and unique?Zhiwaling Heritage was the first five-star property in Bhutan to be wholly Bhutanese owned and operated. We are also the only property in Bhutan to be certified as one of the unique lodges by National geographic. From our exterior adorned with intricately carved woodwork and traditional stone work, to our interior embellished with hand-painted murals and traditionally hand carved Bhutanese motifs, our hotel pays homage to the ‘Dzongs’ or fortresses of Bhutan, showcasing the country’s rich and unique architectural heritage. Zhiwaling seamlessly blends our traditional roots with modern comforts. The hotel is equipped with Swedish technology underfloor heating and electric golf carts to whisk guests’ luggage to the rooms located in the eight cottages, named after each of the ‘Eight Lucky Signs’. Each sign or symbol represents a specific aspect of Buddhist teachings and is believed to bring blessings and good fortune to those who encounter them.

Other comments about your business you wish to share?Our spacious and airy junior suite rooms are all equipped with underfloor heating. The rooms feature a mix of cool tone tile and carpeted area. Each room has private and a shared balcony in the entrance and enjoys the sunlight all day long. Our bathrooms feature a rain shower as well as separate bath tub with a huge window for guests to enjoy natural light and the view. The main building accommodates the hotel’s premium collection of rooms. The Royal Raven Suite is the crown jewel of Zhiwaling with an expansive sitting room, a private dining area, two well-appointed bedrooms, a balcony with views of the serene Paro valley, and its very own shrine room for a quiet meditative space. It is ideal for couples or family traveling together. The one bedroom suites with its spacious rooms and private balconies offer stunning views of the valley and property.
