What makes you different from other guides? Why should someone hire you? What sets me apart as a guide is my unwavering commitment to ensuring a safe and effective experience for all my guests. I am deeply respectful and humble, and I proudly support the queer and LGBTQ+ community, as well as being a dedicated feminist. I am intolerant of racism and prioritize creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.
I approach my work with empathy and compassion, taking mental health seriously and being attentive to the well-being of all. I understand that guests work hard to enjoy their vacation, and I do not take their presence for granted. My goal is to be an integral part of their journey, helping to create spiritual and memorable experiences in Bhutan.
As a vegetarian for the past 22 years, I am meticulous about accommodating dietary restrictions and can guide guests to the best vegan options available in Bhutan. Your dietary needs will be addressed with heartfelt care.
Other comments about your guiding service? My name is Dorji Bidha, and I am a licensed trekking and cultural guide based in Bhutan. For over two decades, I have worked with my family in our homestay and hotel. I eventually decided to pursue my passion for travel and work across Bhutan.
I have collaborated with the Department of Tourism in Bhutan, managing media, press, and journalist groups. I have also hosted guests at luxury hotels such as Aman, Six Senses, and Como Uma, as well as with international companies like G Adventures.
My trekking experience includes the Jomolhari Trek, Nub Tsonapata, Dagala, Snowman Trek, and Soe Yaksa. I have hiked the entire Trans Bhutan Trail and am deeply enthusiastic about the cultural diversity of my country.
During the off-season, I enjoy extensive reading and have a keen interest in global geopolitical issues. I am also committed to advancing women’s opportunities in the tourism industry. Despite tourism being a major revenue generator, women often occupy lower-paying positions. I am dedicated to ensuring that more women can participate and thrive in the tourism sector.
